OpenFront with real money: how it works in CashWars
You know OpenFront: a world map, troops, expansion, cities and nukes, and one player left standing. CashWars is a game of that kind in which every match is played for real money. Each player pays a buy-in in SOL, the buy-ins form the pot, and the player who conquers the map takes it.
From OpenFront to a match for money, step by step
- Create a CashWars account. Your OpenFront account does not carry over; CashWars is a separate game with its own accounts.
- Deposit SOL. Every account gets its own Solana deposit address. Send SOL from any wallet or exchange; deposits are free.
- Pick a mode and a buy-in. Solo or Teams with $1, $2, $5, $10 or $25, or Budget with $1 to $10.
- Play. Expand, build and attack as you know it. Every tile on the map shows its live dollar value: your share of the pot.
- Win and withdraw. Hold 95% of the map for 15 seconds and the pot goes to your balance, minus a 2% win fee. Withdraw to any Solana address.
What carries over from OpenFront
- Expanding into free land early, and keeping a reserve on your borders.
- Choosing how much of your army to send with each attack.
- Cities, defense posts and missile silos, and when to build them.
- Reading the map: who is growing, who is weak, where the next war starts.
What is different when money is at stake
- The pot is real: OpenFront's gold has no cash value, CashWars pays out SOL.
- You win by holding 95% of the map for 15 seconds, not by being the last one alive.
- When two players each hold 35% or more of the map, a peace vote can split the pot by share of the map.
- You must be connected when the match ends to be paid; if you lose your connection, you can rejoin for up to 5 minutes.
An example pot
Ten players join a $5 Solo lobby: the pot is $50. The winner receives $49, the pot minus the 2% win fee. The other nine players lose their $5 buy-in.
OpenFront with real money: questions and answers
Can I play OpenFront for real money?
Not in OpenFront itself: it is free to play and its gold has no cash value. CashWars is a game of the same kind in which every match is played for SOL on Solana, and the winner takes the pot.
Does my OpenFront account work in CashWars?
No. CashWars is a separate game with its own accounts. Creating one takes a minute, and your OpenFront skills carry over.
How much can I win in a match?
The pot: the buy-ins of all players in the match, plus the bonus of a Golden Round. In solo the winner takes it minus a 2% win fee; in teams the winning team splits it.
How do I get my winnings out?
Your balance can be withdrawn at any time to any Solana address. The withdraw fee is shown before you confirm, and the Solana network fees are paid by the operator.
Can you really win money?
You can win money and you can lose your stake. A match is a contest between players: the winner takes the pot, everyone else loses what they put in. You must be at least 18, and playing for money must be legal where you live.
Can you play OpenFront io with real money?
Not on OpenFront io itself. In CashWars every match is an OpenFront-style war with a buy-in in SOL, and you can withdraw what you win to any Solana address.
Is OpenFront gold real money?
No. Gold in OpenFront only pays for cities, ports, warships and bombs during a match and has no cash value. In CashWars the pot is real SOL.
