How to win a CashWars match
A CashWars match is won by the player who holds 95% of the map for 15 seconds. Here is how to get there: how to start, when to attack, what to build, and the rules that cost money if you ignore them.
The first minutes
- In Solo, spawns are placed at random; in Teams, every player chooses their spawn.
- Expand into free land first. It is the cheapest way to grow.
- Avoid an early war with a neighbour as big as you: whoever fights first often feeds a third player.
Troops and attacks
- Every attack costs troops. Send a part of your army and keep a reserve on your borders.
- Attack where the enemy is thin: small neighbours and bots first.
- Avoid fighting on two fronts at once.
What to build
- Cities raise how many troops you can hold.
- Defense posts make a border harder to take; place them where a strong enemy touches you.
- Missile silos let you strike far behind enemy lines.
- In Budget mode you can also buy buildings, warships and bombs with real SOL after the first 35 seconds; that money goes into the pot.
The endgame
- You win by holding 95% of the map for 15 seconds without interruption, so keep troops ready for the last pockets of resistance.
- If two players each hold 35% or more, a peace vote can split the pot by share of the map. Vote with your position in mind.
- A match still running after 5 hours ends and is split by share of the map.
Rules that cost money if you ignore them
- You must be connected when the match ends to be paid.
- If you lose your connection, you can rejoin for up to 5 minutes.
- If you abort a match, you lose your buy-in.
- Teaming with a second account, or systematic teaming with friends in Solo, leads to a ban.
Questions and answers
How do you win in CashWars?
Hold 95% of the map for 15 seconds without interruption. In solo the winner takes the pot minus a 2% win fee; in teams the winning team splits it.
Where do I spawn?
In solo, spawns are placed at random. In teams, every player chooses their spawn.
What should I build first?
Cities, because they raise how many troops you can hold. Defense posts help where a strong enemy touches your border.
Are alliances allowed?
In solo and Budget, in-game alliances are allowed, but systematic teaming with friends and teaming with a second account lead to a ban. In teams, teaming is allowed within your own team.
What happens if I lose my connection?
Your territory stays in the game and you can rejoin a running match for up to 5 minutes. To be paid you must be connected when the match ends.
Can you really win money?
You can win money and you can lose your stake. A match is a contest between players: the winner takes the pot, everyone else loses what they put in. You must be at least 18, and playing for money must be legal where you live.
